About Our Services

There are not too many people that are not familiar with some kind of pest problem. Pest Control is a year round battle, because there are so many different kinds of pests. Some are nuisance pests, and some do harm to you or your belongings. At Pestek Pro, we study the biology and habits of different pests, so we can determine the best strategy for control. We also understand that not everybody is alike, therefore requiring different strategies and methods to control pests with your unique needs in mind. We offer both commercial and residential services, and we offer very flexible service plans to fit your specific needs.Click the links below to learn more about some of our services

Eco-Green Services

Our Eco-Green program is a somewhat new approach to pest control that integrates inspections and exclusion services with the application of “green” products. This integrated approach involves a series of evaluations, decisions and controls. Priority is always given to low impact, non-chemical and the least disruptive solutions.

Our Eco-Green products are carefully selected based on impact and effectiveness. For example, we use a revolutionary line of botanically derived pest control products made of essential oils such as clove, peppermint, evergreen, rosemary and thyme. These products are based on the natural defenses plants use to combat insects and are extremely effective. We use methods and products that are both sustainable and responsible. We call it our S.M.A.R.T. Program.

  • And
  • Responsible
  • Treatments

All of our services, from pest control, termite control, mosquito control, bed bug control, and even moisture control are available in our Eco-Green program. Unlike most companies, we do not charge extra money for the availability of our Eco-Green services. We feel that it should not cost you more to feel safe with pest control. Just like our more traditional programs, there is a 100% guarantee on our work.

Termite Control

There are several reasons to protect your home or business from termites. The biggest reason being the amount of damage that termites can cause. There are also several treatment methods for controlling termites. All situations are different, and everybody has unique needs. At Pestek Pro, we understand this, and are here to help you determine which treatment is right for you. After a proper inspection, we design a customized protection plan to fit your particular needs.

  • We identify the problem and the extent of the infestation
  • We determine what method of treatment is best for you, your family, and your property
  • We communicate what initial preparations must be done before service
  • We use specialized equipment and products, carefully eliminating the problem
  • We respect your home by working cautiously and cleaning up after our service
  • We follow up our service with planned return inspections and applications

Conventional termite control relies on establishing a continuous chemical barrier in the soil around all sides of your foundation. For houses with crawlspaces, treatment includes applications to the soil around piers supporting your floor system. This barrier should prevent foraging termites from reaching the foundation and piers and, ultimately, the wood in your house. Non-repellent products are not easily detected by termites, so the insects do not know to avoid the treated area. Forager termites are the first to confront these non-repellent products, which are then shared with the rest of the colony during feeding and grooming, effectively controlling the colony's members.

Pestek Pro offers the Advance Termite Baiting Systems for residential termite control and commercial termite control to detect and eliminate termite populations in and around your home or business. The Advance Termite Baiting System is installed in the soil around the perimeter of your home or business. The stations are checked and monitored (Quarterly) for termite activity. If termites become present, they will feed and then travel back to the colony sharing the Active Termite Bait with other termites sending them back to feed on the active bait as well. As feeding on the active bait continues and more and more termites are affected, the termite colony starts to die and is eliminated.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.

The IPM approach can be applied to both agricultural and non-agricultural settings, such as the home, garden, and workplace. IPM takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options including, but not limited to, the judicious use of pesticides. In contrast, organic food production applies many of the same concepts as IPM but limits the use of pesticides to those that are produced from natural sources, as opposed to synthetic chemicals.

IPM is not a single pest control method but, rather, a series of pest management evaluations, decisions and controls. In practicing IPM, those who are aware of the potential for pest infestation follow a four-tiered approach. The four steps include:

  • Set Action Thresholds

Before taking any pest control action, IPM first sets an action threshold, a point at which pest populations or environmental conditions indicate that pest control action must be taken. Sighting a single pest does not always mean control is needed. The level at which pests will either become an economic threat is critical to guide future pest control decisions.

  • Monitor and Identify Pests

Not all insects, weeds, and other living organisms require control. Many organisms are innocuous, and some are even beneficial. IPM programs work to monitor for pests and identify them accurately, so that appropriate control decisions can be made in conjunction with action thresholds. This monitoring and identification removes the possibility that pesticides will be used when they are not really needed or that the wrong kind of pesticide will be used.

  • Prevention

As a first line of pest control, IPM programs work to manage the lawn, or indoor space to prevent pests from becoming a threat. For example, raking up leaves, keeping the grass cut, taking the trash out, and moving wood piles away from the structure. These control methods can be very effective and cost-efficient and present little to no risk to people or the environment.

  • Control

Once monitoring, identification, and action thresholds indicate that pest control is required, and preventive methods are no longer effective or available, IPM programs then evaluate the proper control method both for effectiveness and risk. Effective, less risky pest controls are chosen first, including highly targeted chemicals, such as pheromones to disrupt pest mating, or mechanical control, such as trapping or weeding. If further monitoring, identifications and action thresholds indicate that less risky controls are not working, then additional pest control methods would be employed, such as targeted spraying of pesticides. Broadcast spraying of non-specific pesticides is a last resort.

Mosquito Control

The threat of West Nile and other mosquito borne diseases could potentially affect everyone in your family, including your pets. These harmful pests take away enjoyment of your outdoor activities - grilling, lounging, gardening, etc., and keep your children from playing comfortably in the yard.

So why are they such a problem? Simple: Your yard can make a perfect habitat and breeding ground for swarms of biting mosquitoes! Though mosquitoes fly, they do stop to rest. Your home makes a perfect resting ground for them. They rest under leaves of shrubs, soffits, under decks, and many other places. Any standing water gives them a great place to lay eggs, therefore making the issue even worse. At Pestek Pro, we know where to treat to greatly reduce the population.

  • We identify the problem and the extent of the infestation
  • We determine what method of treatment is best for you, your family, and your property
  • We communicate what initial preparations must be done before service
  • We use specialized equipment and products, carefully reducing the problem
  • We respect your home by working cautiously and cleaning up after our service
  • We follow up our service with planned return inspections and applications

Bed Bug Service

Several health issues may occur because of the existence of bedbugs. The health-related issue may include mental frustration, skin rashes and hypersensitive symptoms among others. Inspection of bed bugs includes finding out if they have penetrated in to the living place. Bedbug’s treatment consists of the elimination of the insect from the cracks and crevices of your home. Bedbugs feed on human blood, in addition to that, they bite animals and birds as well. Usually bed bugs bite at night when you are enjoying your sleep. Bed bugs particularly attack the face, back, arms, neck and hands. They can live six months to one year without taking blood meal.

It is hard to get rid of bed bugs, but though a professional pest control service, this is possible. There are a range of programs, facilities and products to help you get rid of bedbugs. These include insecticide management, steam cure, heat treatment, bed encasements, monitoring, and inspection.

  • We identify the problem and the extent of the infestation
  • We determine what method of treatment is best for you, your family, and your property
  • We communicate what initial preparations must be done before service

Moisture Control

Moisture is a homeowners worst enemy. Not only does moisture cause fungus, sometimes even structural damage, it also provides a great environment for all sorts of pests. From rodents that live in your house, and destroy your things from either chewing on them, or leaving behind a trail of urine and feces, to insects that destroy the wood in your home. It even attracts pests that are merely a nuisance. Moisture can do an unlimited amount of damage to your home and your health.

At Pestek Pro, we implement many different tools to provide our customers with moisture protection in their homes. A lot of moisture problems start in your crawl space or basement. Coincidentally, 40% of the air that you breathe in your home comes from these places. In other words, whatever you have living below you(i.e. Rodents, fungus), you are breathing that in. Termites have actually been proven to give off more methane gas than any other living creature, and moisture ridden wood makes an easy meal for them.

Standard insulated crawl space

There are many different types of moisture control. At Pestek Pro we offer a variety of solutions to moisture issues. Every situation is different from one to the next, so we have solutions to fit every need and every budget. We offer everything from vents, insulation, water deterrence, dehumidifiers, and so much more. In spaces where encapsulation is not an option(i.e. Combustible equipment in crawl spaces), we can still help with moisture control through foundation vents, and vapor barriers etc. At Pestek Pro we believe that there is a solution to every problem, and we are it.

  • We identify the problem and the extent of the infestation
  • We determine what method of treatment is best for you, your family, and your property

Encapsulated crawl space

Old crawl space thinking and old building codes had builders placing crawl space vents on opposite sides of the house hoping that outside air would enter a vent on one side of the crawl space and exit out the vent on the other side. In effect, this would remove damp, musty crawl space air with clean outside air. Problem is... that's not how it works.

What the actual science of it tells us is that air movement is upwards in a house, like a chimney. This upward air movement is called a Stack Effect, and this Stack Effect draws air inward from every crawl space vent and up into the living space of the home, eventually exhaling this air out of the upper levels. So where crawl space vents were supposed to remove moisture, they actually contribute to increased moisture in the crawl space during the humid months of summer. These crawl space vents also increase heating cost in the winter from sucking in cold outside air. It's a lose/lose situation.

Crawl space encapsulation is the solution! Seal the crawl space with a vapor barrier, seal the crawl space vents with vent covers, seal any gaps or holes to the outside, seal the crawl space door - seal it up as tight as possible.
